Do children accept santa claus as their deity?
Think about it, they believe he's omnipresent, that he can work miracles, and that he gives them whatever they want but they don't have to die for him to deliver on it. sure, you can take them to church, but really their devotion to their parents' religion is only mimicry until they mature enough to fully process the ideas and ideals of the religion and set their own beliefs. but santa claus is very real to them, because they've witnessed his "works and wonders" aka christmas morning with presents. a side note: I would highly recommend that you don't tell your children about santa if you want them to worship your personal god. when you eventually tell them he's not real, and because of the points that I've previously stated, how can one expect them to believe in a god when one of their own deities has been shattered?
