Is Muslim Bangladesh a sick nation?

Recently a women was tied up and caned till she was hospitalised and died for being a suspect in a affair with a man. The women was punished by village-man who took the law into their own hands.There have been recorded cases of victims ( women ) who were stoned to death for being a participant in the case. How sick and low can these humans be? This has changed my perception of this poor Muslim nation as a poor and mentally sick men - nation.
