Women, what are your thoughts on toupees?

I am getting back into the dating pool after a 40 year hiatus. Back in the day I had a full head of hair, and in the last 40 years some of those brown locks have decided that the top of my head wasn't a good place to live. I typically wear a baseball cap wherever I go to cover up my "solar panel" but I have a date scheduled at a nice Oyster bar in downtown Topeka next weekend and I do not want to wear a hat at the table. I'm not current on pop culture so I'm not sure whether or not it is taboo to wear a toupee. I've tried on a few that look unimaginably good but before I spent $475 I wanted a little feedback. Thanks for your help.
