How would you round a number like 2.0001 to 2 sig figs?

because you cant just say 2.0 because there's a 1 there. so you have to turn it into scientific notation but i forgot how? can someone walk me through the steps? CAN YOU ALSO GIVE ME OTHER EXAMPLES
