TS clearance for navy?

i spoke to the chief in charge of the recruiting station and he said the investigation was done and that requires no interview unless the fbi has questions for me. is this right? i thought my friends and family would be grilled by investigators and i would be interviewed myself. what is the process like for getting a TS clearance im also in DEP.
