What are some things I can do to my 2001 Prelude?

I don't want to rice it out. Is there a muffler or exhaust system that doesn't make it sound like a bumble bee or isn't very loud and big? Does a cold air intake actually yield anything more than a few hp? I'm not looking to put tons into it or be a boy racer, just want it to breathe better or handle better.
