What is happening, here?

No matter what I say, my mother seems to become confrontational, if I even make a humble request for privacy and quiet, my mum literally goes crazy, saying that I am nuts, if I ask her to be quieter in her activities, when I am trying to take a nap, or when I say I want the door closed to my end of the house, keeping out the cat for a while, as I rest, because usually she leaves all the doors open in the house for him to access his litter tray. She goes crazy, instead of reacting with logic and reason. She becomes hysterical and says, "you wanted a cat.." and she doesn't seem to properly listen to what I am saying, totally misinterpreting it. Sometimes I've walked past her, I can see her stewing over something, ready to react to me, angrily, finding any reason at all.
